NDP supports OpenMedia.ca in call to Conservatives

In a press release today, the New Democrats announced they are calling on the Conservative government to create a long-term digital plan for Canada, and cited OpenMedia.ca's report, Casting An Open Net, as an indication that it's time for the government to get serious. Previously, the Conservative government has been silent on their stance towards Canada's digital future, foregoing even the need to address public concerns on usage-based billing (UBB).

New Democrat Digital Affairs Critic Charlie Angus went on to stress that a comprehensive rural broadband strategy, continued opposition to UBB, and investment in the upcoming spectrum auction would remain priorities of the party.

We hope to hear from other parties on their stances and opinions concerning these issues.
